FRANCE 2013

Carrying on from the last post I thought I'd do one about my week away in France, even though it was nearly a month ago (oops..). We stayed in a little village in the most beautiful house I've ever seen, with a huge garden big enough for all our activities. I've never made a makeshift badminton/volleyball court before, but I think we did quite well for what we had to work with. The best thing about the house was the upstairs living room for all the kids (kids being everyone under 40).

We quickly transformed it into boys and girls areas; the boys having one settee to play playstation and the girls taking up every bit of available space with nail polishes and transfer tattoos. It was honestly like one giant sleepover.

Tasteful tattoos//Rachel's 3D manicure//Joy's crazy nails//Jeni's smartie nails//My 'something different' nails

Okay, so as a beauty blogger this probably isn't what you were expecting. There's no amazing designs that you couldn't do at home and there's no seriously expensive nail polish. And yes, the photos are terrible. But we all had so much fun, or maybe that stemmed from the fumes.. there were a lot of us. It was so nice to go out all day and do/see interesting things with the adults, but it was even more fun to come home, have dinner and then run upstairs and pamper ourselves. Credit goes to Rachel for doing everyones nails so beautifully and with such ease. And of course, we can't forget Joy who next to Rachel was the only one brave enough to test the 3D manicure on her. Added bonus being that I got to try out nail polishes that I've never heard of as well as ones that I've been wanting for a while.

One last note for everyone who thinks we're crazy, especially after seeing the puppy tattoo.. We all had an amazing time, and it was really nice doing things I never thought I'd do again. It was the perfect holiday, fun and care free.

VASELINE SPRAY & GO BODY MOISTURISER ALOE FRESH

August was a busy month for me, between trying to organise my time between three places as well as travelling back and forth London and two holidays! The first was with my family, just a few days camping in Weymouth as we normally do. No one ever believes me although I have the proof and it happens every single year, but Weymouth to me is like Ibiza. I'm sure Ibiza has much better scenery, but I mean the weather!

Day 1 at the beach for a few hours turned into the entirety of my holiday and a few days when I got home of unbearable back pain from sunburn. This time it was sort of my fault, but it was horrible. I did the whole cool shower thing, aftersun, the lot. But nothing seemed to work.
The second holiday was with my boyfriends family in France, but travelling up to London proved more difficult than I thought; boiling hot, stuffy weather coupled with a heavy bag and the tube just made my back even worse.

So my boyfriends mother gave me this to try (which was an added bonus as I've actually been wanting to test this out for a while). I have to say that it did a much better job in one day than my aftersun did in a week. The thing I love most about this product is the noise it makes when you press down on the nozzle. The formula is non-greasy and sprays out in a very fine layer and I found it soaked into my skin really well after just a few seconds.

I think there are two others in this range. All three work in different ways, but Boots doesn't seem to like me at the moment so I can't view anything without an error code popping up. I highly recommend this product and take back everything I thought when it first came out. I'm not one for body lotions but this has definitely opened my mind. Perfect and just in time for summer, well done, Vaseline!
